HH Sakya Trizin announces the reincarnation of Venerable Lama Jampa Rinpoche

Venerable Lama Jampa Rinpoche was a highly realized Lama who led the monks of Tsechen Damchos Ling from their escape from Tibet in 1959 until his passing away at the age of 85 on 8th December 1989.
The reincarnation of the late Lama Jampa has been recently finalized by His Holiness the Sakya Trizin after more than three years of waiting. The reincarnation was none other than our own monk Ngawang Khedup alias Namgyal Wangchuk son of Mrs. Tsewang Sangmo Shontsang.
His Holiness gave Acharya Guru Gyaltsen the letter of prediction while he was in Rajpur on 10th April 2004, advising that the formal naming and clothing ceremony should be carried out as soon as possible.
Ngawang Khedup, his mother and a senior monk travelled to Rajpur to receive blessings of His Holiness and at the same time, execute the naming and clothing ceremony in the presence of His Holiness.
His Holiness bestowed a new name to the incarnate lama: Jampa Ngawang Lodoe Gyaltsen.
The ceremony followed with customary gifts from His Holiness, Ven. Chiwang Tulku Rinpoche, Sakya Center Office and later from Ludhing Labrang.
On their return to Mundgod, the reception at the railway station was attended by almost 50 representatives from all the local villages and more than 300 people at the monastery. A formal ceremony was organized at the monastery.
Lama Jampa Ngawang will now continue his studies at Tsechen Damchos Ling under Ven. Kunga Tenzin and Ven. Kunga Gedun.
